Inspiration

Eve gets most of her inspiration and fashion sense from the flapper-filled era of the 1920s. As she is a bit of a party girl she feels that this era portrays her well. The 1920's were when clothing first became provocative, woman started cutting their hair short, drinking and dancing. She feels that this sums her up well as, yes, the clothing was more provocative, but it was still classy! She loves the flapper girl style, netted skirts and garments with movement. This is why I feel she was the perfect client for me as the skirt on my dress is loose netted, the garment has a lot of freedom.

A little bit about the 1920s Fashion.
Fashion has always been influenced by the mode of transportation, the architecture of the period, and the customs of the people, and so it was in the 1920's. Beautiful and co-ordinating outfits were a major factor to 1920s fashion, an elegant and unique style was formed with the use of hats, stockings, bags, dresses and jewellery. Known as the ‘roaring 20’s’, women’s fashion faced a dramatic change in style as the bustier and corsets passed designers had much more freedom with design giving loose fitting clothes and also creating the boy-like frame. Dresses became lighter and brighter in colour and also shorter than ever before! Now that the dresses were shorter stockings and shoes became a greater deal to be designing as they were now on shoe, stocking in every colour imaginable were produced some even with patterns on to match outfits and shoes became more outrageous than ever! The 1920’s to me is such an inspirational era as it’s a time were fashion took a drastic turn and it’s a time for experimentation.
